Arts and Wellness Program

Day Spring continues to grow and serve individuals with disabilities in a variety of residential settings designed to meet personal needs and abilities. Our goal is to be intentional about adding life-enhancing services, focusing on wellness of the whole person in order to fulfill our mission.

Day Spring launched the Arts and Wellness Pilot Program in the fall of 2022, providing residents with regular activities related to mindfulness, wellness, and creativity. The initial program included at least 1 class per week, alternating between disciplines to ensure residents have both creative and physical outlets that are informative and fun. From Yoga to Visual Arts, our residents love creativity and movement! They also need and deserve these vital experiences.

Day Spring has established routine partners through Bellarmine University, Louisville Orchestra, Actors Theatre of Louisville, artists and other instructors. Partnerships are formed based on the needs of residents and the partners’ understanding of our mission. We offer quality arts and wellness programming for every resident and love to engage in community partnerships.

The Day Spring Arts and Wellness Program continues to enrich the quality of life for our residents, and has increased accessibility and relationship-building between the Day Spring residents and the community. The residents at Day Spring are heavily involved in selecting programming, and all activities are chosen based on individual interest and needs. We look forward to bringing more life enhancing experience to Day Spring through this program.
